Quick competition

Prize : Full version of Internet Test Cricket.

Question:

In Internet Test Cricket I had to choose a default port (above 1024) for games played over the Internet. I ended up choosing 2257. Why? There is a reason although if I get some good original reasons for selecting 2257 I will also include them in the virtual hat. Closing date for entries end of March.

A couple of hints

	It is not related to cricket at all
	It is not my birthdate! I am not that old :-)

Answer

From the Babylon 5 's episode "The Gathering 2257".

It began in the Earth year 2257, with the founding of the last of the Babylon stations, located deep in neutral space. It was a port of call for refugees, smugglers, businessmen, diplomats and travellers from a hundred worlds. It could be a dangerous place, but risk was accepted, because Babylon 5 was the last, best hope for peace.

I am a huge fan of this excellent Sci-Fi series as people who read my old whoami page may remember.

	Matthew Harbour - Is was the day 2/2/57 that Buddy Holly and the CRICKETS (the clever bit) released their first single? I know is was in Feb 57 from an encyclopaedia but it doesn't say the day.
